Overview
As club President you are responsible for the overall management and success of your club. As the presiding officer of the club and board, you will work closely not only with your club but also with the district board, especially your Lieutenant Governor. It is the district board’s responsibility to ensure that the President and their club are supported.
Duties
- Organize an effective leadership team by facilitating your board of club officers and appointing and educating committee chairs.
- Lead effective and efficient board meetings by utilizing all members to share the workload of running an effective club.
- Implement a succession plan for future leaders, ensuring a seamless transition.
- Ensure that the club continues to be relevant to the community and to its members.
- Gain an understanding of the roles of the Kiwanis and faculty advisors.
- Facilitate fun, educational and efficient club meetings.
- Plan and run effective service, leadership, and fellowship events.
- Communicate regularly with members to keep them informed about the business and activities of the club.
- Deliver information from the district and international levels of the organization to the club.
- Reward and recognize members and officer achievements.
- Promote Kiwanis-family relations.
- Reach out to host institution club office or district & international officers for help if you or your club need it.
