New York Circle K Scholarships & Circle K International Scholarships

All New York Circle K Scholarship awardees are announced at the District Convention and all applicants are highly encouraged to attend.

Don Forsyth “Circle K” Scholarship
This scholarship was established in honor of Mr. Forsyth, who lived his life with a deep passion for Circle K. The scholarship provides recognition and financial assistance to individual members of Circle K clubs who have demonstrated exceptional community service. The scholarship awards an amount of $5,000.

John Keegan Memorial Scholarship
Previously the New York District Circle K Alumni Association Scholarship, now the John Keegan Memorial Scholarship in memory of the late Circle K Administrator John Keegan who has served Circle K for many years. This scholarship recognizes students and provides financial assistance to excellent Circle K’ers who have demonstrated a level of dedication to their community worthy of John Keegan’s legacy. The scholarship awards an amount of $1,000. 

Applicants will need recommendations attesting to their community service.

Scholarships from the Kiwanis Children’s Fund are designed to help members of Circle K International and graduating members of Key Club International. Scholarship applications are posted November 1. Application submissions are due February 1.

Kiwanis Children’s Fund Scholarship
The Kiwanis Children’s Fund Scholarship is made possible by donations made in memory of J. Walker Field, David W. Hancock, Harry S. Himmel, Andrew Reardon, Stephen A. Sapaugh, Florence Skomba and Robert Thal. These donations were made to provide scholarship opportunities to deserving members in good standing of Circle K International.

Amount awarded: Two (2) scholarships will be awarded with a minimum award amount of US$2,500 each. Exact amount will be determined closer to the award date.

John E. Mayfield Circle K Scholarship
Former Kiwanis Children’s Fund President John E. Mayfield was a generous philanthropist and enthusiastic supporter of Kiwanis and the Children’s Fund. He established the John E. Mayfield Circle K Scholarship Fund in 2015. John died in 2017, but his good works continue.

Amount awarded: Minimum amount awarded US$1,400. Exact amount will be determined closer to the award date.

Who can apply? Members in good standing of Circle K International with a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale or its equivalent.

Circle K International Past Presidents’ Scholarship
The Circle K International Past Presidents’ Scholarship was created in 1990 to recognize current club presidents who have demonstrated excellence and dedication to CKI. It is given every year to one current club president.

Amount awarded: US$1,000

Who can apply? Current CKI club presidents in good standing.

Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Center Scholarship

Rich Santer “Pay It Forward” Scholarship

This program was created in memory of past KPTC Foundation 1st Vice President and Long Island South Central Lt. Governor, Rich Santer. Rich was also the KPTC Service Leadership Committee Advisor and guided its members in implementing many ‘Safe Kids’ safety programs taught in elementary schools and originated numerous fundraisers. This award recognizes the service leadership of any member of New York District Kiwanis Key Club and/or Circle K and seeks to acknowledge the support of Youth involved in KPTC’s programs that promote health and safety of children.

Amount Awarded: One (1) award of $1000

This application will require an essay and a letter of recommendation regarding their service in Circle K

DPG AL & PFL Rita Bevilacqua Scholarships
This award recognizes the service leadership of any member of New York District Kiwanis Key Club and/or Circle K and seeks to acknowledge the support of Youth involved in KPTC’s programs that promote health and safety of children.

Amount Awarded; One (1) award of $1000 or two (2) of $500

This application asks for a letter of recommendation from a teacher of community member regarding the applicant’s community involvement to include any scholastic achievements earned by the applicant

This application has in the past asked for a short essay.

Robert ‘Bob’ Cummo Scholarship
This program is instituted by the KPTC Foundation to recognize the service leadership of any member of New York District Kiwanis Key Club and/or Circle K, and to acknowledge the support of Youth involved in Kiwanis community service projects that benefit children.

Amount Awarded; One (1) award of $1000 or two (2) of $500

This application asks for 1 letter of recommendation that includes scholastic achievements and their involvement in service

This application also asks for a letter of recommendation (this can be one combined letter of recommendation with the former) for their involvement in Key Club/Circle K/ or Kiwanis.

This application has in the past asked for a short essay.
